These large ceramic cores are molded into an extruded aluminum, chassis-mount housing. The wirewound design maximizes pulse handling capability, while the aluminum housing provides for superior heat conduction and resistance to very tough environmental conditions.
Molding compounds must have excellent electrical properties and depending on their molding process can use a standard transfer mold compound or an injection mold epoxy.
Key Application Considerations:
- High power resistors can handle up to 300W
- Low tolerances and resistances from 0.1 Ohms to 100 kOhms
- Used in industrial motor controls and drives
